King Salman Reserve Organizes Nature Reserves Seminar Riyadh


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Riyadh, October 06, 2022, SPA -- King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority organized a two-day Seminar on Nature Reserves Global Measures and Standards in Riyadh, with several experts and specialists in the environment and natural reserves.
The CEO of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Abdullah Al-Amer emphasized that this seminar comes from the role of the Reserve in highlighting the Kingdom's role in protecting the environment by establishing the Royal Reserve Council and the National Environment Strategy in 2018 to adopt an expansive vision for protecting wildlife and unique habitats so that future generations enjoy this country's rich diversity and achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz is one of the four largest land reserves in the world and the largest in the Kingdom. It covers +13000 km2. It represents the beauty of nature, the open area among geographical and heritage diversity, and heritage, some of which date back centuries B.C.
Al-Amer anticipated that new and sustainable means would be uncovered to direct efforts toward preserving and developing ecosystems and nature reserves for the future.
He continues stressing the importance of maintaining the environment and nature; participants pointed out that IUCN seeks to help the world find practical solutions to the most critical environmental and development challenges by supporting environmental researchers to manage field projects worldwide.
The attendees demonstrated that a cooperative effort across the Kingdom would contribute to preserving the nature of the reserves, their clean air, and a productive environment.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority aims by this seminar to organize and strengthen the role of natural reserves and their activities internally and externally and to reveal the future course of the reserves and the aspirations they seek to realize within the framework of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, as well as to combine efforts and cooperate with the collaborators and share information, expertise and environmental impact in the protected areas. as well as the promotion of natural reserves and their effective role in preserving the productive capacity of ecosystems.
