(MENAFN) Based on the deputy secretary of Iran's Free Zones High Council, from the seventh calendar month of Mehr in the previous Iranian year to the same month in this year, more than 320 trillion rials (about USD1.142 billion) in investments have been made in the nation's free zones (September 23, 2021-Septemebr 22, 2022).
According to Ahmad Jamali, the effectiveness of free trade and special economic zones should be assessed in light of historical trends, objectives, and regional rivals, as well as taking a certain time period into account.
Additionally, the secretary of the Free Zones High Council had earlier disclosed that in the previous Iranian calendar year 1400, investments of 360 trillion rials (or around USD1.285 billion) had been made in the nation's free zones (ended on March 20).
Additionally, Saeed Mohammad disclosed that during the first three months of the current Iranian year, investments of 60 trillion rials (about USD214 million) were made in the free zones (March 21-June 21).
