The Taliban arrested a woman on charges of murdering her sister-in-law with an axe in the provincial capital of Takhar, Taloqan city, in northeastern Afghanistan, said local Taliban officials.
The arrested woman, Shayeqa, ax-murdered her brother's wife, Bibi Kobra, on Tuesday morning, October 4, the local Taliban authorities told the media.
According to Abdul Mobin Safi, the spokesman for the Taliban police chief office in Takhar province, the police investigation revealed that a verbal argument sparked the criminal act in which the woman killed her sister-in-law.
The domestic violence accident, according to the Taliban official, Safi, which led to a murder, resulted in the death of the 30-year-old Bibi Kobra.
The hot-tempered woman who killed her sister-in-law was arrested by the Taliban forces, Safi told the media.
There has recently been a discernible increase in reports of suicide, domestic violence, honor killings, family disputes, and interpersonal animosity since the Taliban took control.
This comes after a man killed his three young sons earlier this week—a 6-year-old, a 9-year-old, and a 13-year-old—with a knife after people teased him for how his sons had taken to begging to help their family out financially.
