UAE Participates In ICA Roma Conference

ABU DHABI, 23th September, 2022 (WAM) -- Abdullah Majid Al Ali, Director General of the National Archives and Library, briefed the ongoing International Council of Archives (ICA) Roma Conference 2022 in Rome about the UAE's preparations to host the ICA Abu Dhabi Congress 2023.

This 2022 edition's theme sees the Archives as a means of bridging a transversal and multi-level gap. ICARoma2022 features over 200 speakers, presenting papers, panels, workshops, lightning talks, and posters.

ICA Abu Dhabi Congress will take place in October at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Al Ali told the conferees that ICA Abu Dhabi Congress 2023 will discuss several topics of interest such as Artificial intelligence, Digital preservation, Managing metadata, Blockchain, Cybersecurity and information governance, etc..

Organisers said the International Council on Archives Abu Dhabi Congress coming under the title 'Empowering Knowledge Societies' is dedicated to the effective management of records and the preservation of the world's archival heritage. The Congress is making effective records and archives management as it is a basic precondition for good governance, the rule of law, administrative transparency, the preservation of mankind's collective memory, and access to information by citizens.

ICA Congress gives opportunities to professionals from all over the world to share innovative ideas and research and for colleagues. The 21st-century information challenges make archives and record professionals keep data secured and organized effectively to build networks to empower knowledge societies in the future.
