French president to gather with Iran’s Raisi to call for regain of nuclear agreement

(MENAFN) French leader Emmanuel macron is going to gather on Tuesday with his Iranian equivalent as Paris cautions the Islamic Republic that it is not going to get a better offer to regain a nuclear accord.

The Elysee Palace stated that Macron is going to gather leader Ebrahim Raisi on Tuesday on the offshoot of the UN General Assembly in New York and with US leader Joe Biden the next day.

“We’ll see what this week brings,” French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna informed journalists previously Monday. “The window of opportunity seems ready to close again.”

“We are repeatedly saying... there is no better offer for Iran,” she stated. “It’s up to them to make a decision.”

Raisi, in a meeting with CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” stated he was open to a “good” agreement but forced for guarantees from Biden that the United States is not going to once more leave the accord under a future leader — a pledge that the US administration considers impossible.
