(MENAFN- Khaama Press)

Using a hunting rifle, a man allegedly murdered six members of his family as well as another man in Panjshir province of northern Afghanistan, according to local sources.

According to sources in Panjshir, the incident took place on Friday night, the 12th of August in the Dara district's Pojava area.

According to the informant, when his teacher neighbor, Humayun, attempted to intervene and stop him from killing his family, the man also shot him dead.

According to their sources, certain domestic media outlets have claimed that the man, Abdullah, was afflicted with a mental disorder.

There is still no explanation for what compelled this man to shoot members of his family with a hunting rifle, as according to the source the murderer's mental health was not very serious.

The rate of domestic violence has increased since the Taliban came to power, and Afghanistan is currently witnessing its worst levels of unemployment, poverty, and starvation. This has resulted in an increase in the rate of homicides, suicides, and family conflicts.

Despite the Taliban's claims that it has been capable of keeping the country and its people safe, mysterious, recurring murders and other despicable acts continue in numerous provinces all around the country.
