Sheikh Joaan Attends Inaugural Ceremony Of Islamic Solidarity Games

KONYA, Turkey: On behalf of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani attended the inaugural ceremony of the 5th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, which was held in the Turkish city of Konya on Tuesday evening in the presence of the President of the Republic of Turkey HE Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a number of presidents of Islamic states, heads of governments and guests.

HE Sheikh Joaan conveyed the greetings of the Amir to HE the President of the sisterly Republic of Turkey, and His Highness's wishes to the Turkish people for further progress and prosperity.

President Erdogan entrusted Sheikh Joaan with his greetings to the Amir, wishing His Highness good health and happiness, and the Qatari people further progress, development and prosperity.

Sheikh Joaan attended the dinner banquet hosted by President Erdogan in honour of the guests of the inaugural ceremony of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games.

The State of Qatar is represented in the Games by 112 male and female athletes in 14 group and individual games.
