Sudan Tightens Measures To Counter Insecurity In The Blue Nile
Khartoum: The Sudanese authorities decided to tighten security measures in the Blue Nile region in the south of the country, and directed the security forces to immediately deal with all cases of insecurity and attacks on individuals and private and public property.
Technical Committee of Security and Defense Council, which held a meeting Sunday after the tribal clashes that took place in the region, chaired by Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Republic of the Sudan General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, praised the measures taken by the security committee of the region to impose a curfew, prevent unwanted gatherings, and strengthen the rule of law, provided that the measures will apply until the situation returns to normal, demanding that the necessary legal measures be taken against seditionists and instigators of those events.
Following tribal clashes that broke out in the state, killing 31 people and injuring 39 others, as well as causing damage to private and public property, the security committee of the region had announced the imposition of a night curfew in the towns of Al-Damazin and Al-Ruwsiris, from six evening to six morning, and the prevention of unnecessary gatherings until security is restored in the area.
