Amman, June 30 (Petra)- Jordan will always remain an Arab and Islamic voice that calls for moderation, rejects terrorism and extremism, and seeks to achieve humanity's interests, Lower House Speaker, Abdul Karim Doghmi, said.
Doghmi's remarks came in his speech at the inaugural ceremony of Baku Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, which is currently being held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, which saw regional and international parliamentary participation.
According to a House statement on Thursday, he affirmed the right of the Palestinian people to build their independent state on their national soil, with Jerusalem as its capital, while stressing the Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites.
Continuing: 'We call on international organizations and parliamentary blocs to demand the major countries, especially peace sponsors, to seek to activate UN resolutions aimed to achieve fair solutions to the Palestinian cause, by pushing Israel, as an occupying country, to comply with those UN steps.'
In this regard, he noted the key to Middle East peace is a just solution to the Palestinian cause.
Jordan's House participation in the Baku conference comes as an active member of Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, affirming the Parliament's support to the event's activities and goals, adding that it will work to provide the necessary ground to implement many outcomes.
