Florian Wirtz, Leverkusen reach agreement for contract extension

(MENAFN) On Thursday, Bayer 04 Leverkusen declared that Florian Wirtz has reached an agreement to extend his contract with the club.

The 19-year-old German midfielder inked a new contract with the club for 5 additional years.

“From my point of view, the development in the past two years was almost breathtaking and certainly not foreseeable in this form. It is clear to me that I also have the team to thank for this, with whom it is incredible fun.”

Adding that “The guys are a key reason why I feel comfortable here and that it went so well overall. There is a lot in us and in this club. We want to show that to all Bayer 04 fans. And those who aren't."

Sports director Rudi Voller stated that "Florian knows that we will continue to be competitive in Leverkusen in the coming years and that we will attack at the national and international level and he will be an important part of it."
