Turkish UAV Powered By Ukrainian Engine Sets New Altitude Record


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Turkey's Akıncı UAV, created by Baykar Makina, and powered by a Ukrainian-made engine, has set a new altitude record.

That's according to Baykar Makina Technical Director Selçuk Bayraktar, who broke the news on Twitter .

The new altitude national record has been set at 45,118 feet (13,752m - ed.),' the statement said.

Akıncı set a previous record in April this year, flying at 35,000 feet (almost 10.7 km).

As Baykar Makina CEO Halyuk Bayraktar said earlier in an interview with Ukrinform, various models of Akinci UAVs are powered by Ukrainian-made engines of various capacity. In particular, these are engines manufactured by Ivchenko-Progres and Motor Sich.
