Sold out of limited edition of 50 Citroen Mini-Citroens in less than 18 minutes

(MENAFN) Stellantis, the parent company of Citroen, reported on Wednesday that a limited run of 50 electric mini-Citroens sold out in less than 18 minutes. This prompted the French brand to write a playful greeting to Elon Musk, the inventor of the electric vehicle.

Citroen referred to the Tesla CEO's thirst for mergers, which recently included a USD44 billion offer for Twitter, on a billboard near Paris' Gare de L'Est train station, "sorry Elon, the only way to get one is to buy us."

Citroen has sold 22,000 units of the compact electric Ami since its release in April two years ago in Morocco, Europe, and Turkey. The Moroccan-made vehicle may be driven without a license. It's only available online.
