Turkey’s day-to-day energy intake drops 0.7 percent on Wednesday


(MENAFN) In line with official numbers of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday Day-to-day electricity intake in Turkey declined by 0.70 percent on Wednesday against the prior day, amounting to 904,833 megawatt-hours.

Figures from TEIAS presented that hourly power intake reached its highest at 43,112 megawatt-hours at 15.00 regional time (1200 GMT).

The country's electricity consumption fell to the worst level of 29,915 megawatt-hours at 06.00 regional time (0300 GMT).

Electricity output reached 897,861 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, indicating a decline of 0.66 percent against to Tuesday.

Electricity output from natural gas plants contributed 26.1 percent of whole generation, whereas hydro power and imported coal power plants constituted 19 percent and 15.2 percent, indiviually. On Wednesday, the nation's electricity exports reached 11,131 megawatt-hours and imports amounted to 18,105 megawatt-hours.
