Premier League declares Kevin De Bruyne as Player of the Season

(MENAFN) On Saturday, Manchester City's star Kevin De Bruyne was declared as the 2021/22 EA Sports Premier League Player of the Season.

The Belgian midfielder, who won over seven other contenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jarrod Bowen, Joao Cancelo, Bukayo Saka, Mohamed Salah, Son Heung-min as well as James Ward-Prowse, was involved in 15 goals and seven assists in 29 games he played this season.

This indicates the Belgian's second award, which was chosen by 20 club captains and a board of football specialists, previously he achieved the award in the 2019/20 season.

Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo and Nemanja Vidic are the only other three players who achieved to get the honor more than one time in Premier League history.

The 30-year-old was transferred from the German team Wolfsburg for the Sky Blues 7 years ago.
