Dubai, UAE : Zurich International Life (Zurich), part of Zurich Insurance Group, has announced the appointment of Mufazzal Kajiji (Mufi) as Chief Executive Officer for its life insurance business in the Middle East, effective 1 June 2022.
Mufi joins Zurich from Mashreq Bank where he was the Head of Wealth Management and Mashreq Gold. A senior financial services professional with over 20 years of multi-functional experience across local and international financial organisations in India and the Middle East, Mufi brings to the role significant expertise within bancassurance, wealth management, digital transformation, business and distribution strategy, risk management, marketing and Islamic banking.
Speaking on the appointment, Wendy Liu, Chief Executive Officer, Zurich Integrated Benefits Solutions said ,“We are delighted to have Mufi on board. His strong business management and distribution experience, proven track record in digital transformation and deep understanding of the regional market will ensure that we grow from strength to strength in our delivery of market-leading and customer-focused innovations.”
Mufi will replace Reena Vivek, the interim CEO for the Middle East who had earlier announced that she would be leaving Zurich after a successful career spanning nearly 10 years, as part of her decision to step away from a full-time corporate role.
