Minister Reviews Opportunities In Qatar-US Ties

Minister of Municipality H E Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie reviewed opportunities and areas of cooperation and major joint investments between the State of Qatar and the US on the occasion of the two countries' celebration of their 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

This came in a speech delivered by the Minister of Municipality, during a reception hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in coordination with the US-Qatar Business Council, in the presence of a number of CEOs of American companies from various sectors in the US, during the Minister's current visit to the US capital, Washington.

In the speech, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie addressed the most important achievements of the State of Qatar in a number of areas, most notably food security, agriculture, infrastructure, and urban planning.

He also touched on the comprehensive urban and development renaissance that Qatar is witnessing in the field of infrastructure, transportation and railways to achieve sustainable development and in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The Minister of Municipality also met yesterday with Mayor of Charleston in South Carolina, John Tecklenburg. 

The meeting dealt with reviewing bilateral cooperation, in the framework of the declaration of intent signed between Doha and Charleston in 2018, which helped enhance ties between the two cities. 

On this occasion, H E the minister said that Doha is looking forward to enhancing bilateral cooperation in the future. 

The Minister stressed that the past 50 years have seen ties between Qatar and the US prosper, which reflected positively on the two peoples. 

The Minister also expressed his confidence that ties will continue to grow in the coming years. 

The meeting was attended by a number of officials and CEOs of US companies based in South Carolina.
