BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 11. The trade turnover
between Iran and Tajikistan increased by 453 percent in value and
489 percent in volume, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021
through March 20, 2022), compared to the preceding Iranian year
(March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), the Spokesman for the
Islamic Republic of Iran customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah
Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.
According to Latifi, the trade turnover between Iran and
Tajikistan for the preceding Iranian year amounted to 139,000 tons,
worth more than $131 million.
The spokesman added that Iran exported about 125,000 tons of
goods worth $91.6 million to Tajikistan within last Iranian year,
which is an increase of 459 percent in value and 535 percent in
volume, compared to the preceding Iranian year.
'Iran's exports to Tajikistan were mainly agricultural and food
products, construction materials, household appliances, minerals,
medicines and vaccines, chemicals, detergents and so on,' he
said.
Furthermore, Iran imported 14,500 tons of goods worth $39.4
million from Tajikistan over last Iranian year, which is an
increase of 439 percent in value and 263 percent in volume,
compared to the preceding Iranian year, the customs official
noted.
Latifi also pointed out that cotton, silkworms, rubber products,
and etc. were main products imported from Tajikistan in last
Iranian year.
