BP, Azerbaijan In Talks On New Renewable Energy Projects

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 4. BP is in negotiations
with the government of Azerbaijan on new projects in renewable
energy sector to be implemented in the territories liberated from
Armenian Occupation [during the second Karabakh war in 2020],
Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, BP's vice president for the Caspian region,
said during the panel discussion on 'Rethinking the results that
are important for Azerbaijan', Trend reports.
'Renewable energy sector is the business of the future. We talk
with Azerbaijani government on new possible projects. However, this
brings another challenge. We still need experts in the field,'
Aslanbayli said.
Talking about BP's overall strategy, Aslanbayli noted that the
company aims at reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2050 or
sooner.
'Meanwhile, we have to meet global environmental challenges.
These challenges will be more pressurizing in the upcoming years.
But at the same time, we will bring more innovations and
technology, to satisfy the demand of our partners, stakeholders and
shareholders,' he added.
