Qatar attends Unesco meeting on 'Youth as Researchers on COVID-19'

Doha: The State of Qatar participated in a two-day high-level policy conference organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (Unesco) in the French capital, Paris, entitled“Youth as Researchers on COVID-19”, with high-level participation of heads of states and governments, and ministers from various countries of the world.
Minister of Social Development and Family H E Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad chaired the delegation of Qatar to the conference, held via video communication technology.
In a speech during a dialogue held within the proceedings of the conference, entitled“Global Policies on the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Youth Rights”, the Minister of Social Development and Family reviewed Qatar's efforts to support youth and the global partnerships to consolidate the principles of global youth development.
The conference discussed several issues and topics that revolve around the responsibility of stakeholders in the public and private sectors to provide job opportunities for young people between the age group 15-35 years, who currently constitute more than a quarter of the worlds population, and the research foundations that enhance their rights and desired goals within the framework of the social development programs.
