Qatar's participation in the expo 2025 Osaka“will open new opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between Qatari and Japanese businesses which will contribute to the benefit of both the economies”.

This was said in a speech by Ministry of Commerce and industry Undersecretary, H E Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater, during a reception celebrating the participation of Qatar pavilion in Expo 2025 held at the Japanese Ambassador's Residence on Monday.

The Undersecretary stressed relations between the two countries are currently witnessing further growth and development across all fields. He likewise mentioned the recent celebration of 50 years of Qatar-Japan bilateral relations which are based on cooperation and friendship.

“Our aim is to deepen and diversify these relations, not only in the energy and business sectors, but also through exchange in education, science, technology, culture, and sports,” Al Khater explained.

On Qatar's pavilion at the Expo 2025, the Undersecretary said the country will build on its story, particularly looking at progress towards the goals of Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Goals, as well as the Osaka's theme“Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”

“Qatar will display its real-world solutions, past successes, as well as future projects and initiatives. Our core message is a deep commitment to a shared future of wellbeing, harmony, and stability,” he said. The pavilion will include an exploration of the three subthemes of Expo 2025 — saving lives, empowering lives, and connecting lives through the four pillars of QNV 2030 which are human, social, economic and environmental development.

Ambassador of Japan to Qatar H E Satoshi Maeda said Qatar has been working passionately about the Expo.“Qatar is one of the first countries to announce its participation in the Expo 2025, and we are pleased to announce that the location of the Pavilion A-16 has been officially confirmed, which is the place for the largest pavilion size and is located in the area with the subtheme of empowering lives.

“We hope Expo 2025 will further promote the attractiveness and potential of Qatar to the Osaka-Kansai region, to all of Japan, and to the world.”

Qatar's pavilion will be located near Japan's pavilion. The Monday reception event was attended by members of the preparation committee for Qatar's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, and a number of CEOs of Japanese companies in Doha. Qatar has been participating in the World Expo for the past years. During the Expo Astana 2017 in Kazakhstan, Qatar's pavilion even won the Gold award in Exhibition Design. It also joined in the ongoing Expo 2020 Dubai.

The Expo 2025 will be held from April 13 to October 13, 2025 at Yumeshima, Osaka.
