Qatar - Toastmaster Sundaresan Rajeswar appointed as advisor for region

Doha: The Board of Directors of Toastmasters International appointed Sundaresan Rajeswar (pictured), a senior Toastmaster from Qatar, as the 2022-2023 Advisor for Region 11 for Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Lebanon, Jordan, and Pakistan. He will serve a 15-month term from April 2022 through June 2023. The region advisor is a volunteer position to serve as mentors to guide and support the Districts while helping increase their capacity to build membership and new clubs. They are also an essential link between the Districts and World Headquarters. 

“I am honoured and excited about the opportunity to be at another point in my leadership journey with Toastmasters. The region advisor position provides the role of a mentor, a motivator, and a coach, helping leaders and districts to achieve excellence. My mantra is to adopt and excel by indulging, immersing, and involving in the service to Toastmasters as a passion and commitment,” said Rajeswar. 

Rajeswar has been with Toastmasters for over 20 years. He is the first District Director for Qatar and led the District as the first-ever Smedly Distinguished and Number 1 in the world in 2019 out of 143 countries. He was Programme Quality Director for Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain, District Finance Manager, and held many leadership positions.

He is currently the Group Head of Internal Audit with Teyseer Group of companies.

“District 116 Qatar is proud of our leader Rajeswar appointed as the region advisor. His leadership propelled Qatar to achieving the World Number 1 in Toastmasters in the first year,” said District Director Manzoor Moideen. 

Rajeswar holds positions as Director on the board of Internal Auditors-Doha and in the IIA Global Board's Advocacy Advisory Council for 2021-2024. He has been in the thought leadership of the IIA for over a decade. He was also the past Chairman of Chartered accountants of India-Qatar and was bestowed the coveted CA Professional Achiever Award in 2017.
