Doha: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani issued Resolution No. (6) of 2022, appointing Majid Mohammed Hassan Abdullah Al Ansari as Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and official spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Dr. Majid Al Ansari has headed the Qatar International Academy for Security Studies (QIASS) since 2019, when he moved there from the Social and Economic Survey Research Institute (SESRI), in addition to his work as an assistant professor in the Qatar University's Department of International Affairs.
Al-Ansari began his career as a researcher in international relations in the office of the First Deputy of the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2005, after which he moved to work in a number of civil society institutions in addition to working as an advisor with a number of governmental and semi-government institutions.
Dr Majid Al-Ansari obtained his MA and PhD degrees in social transformation from the Cathie Marsh Institute (CMI) at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, and a BA in Political Science from Leeds University in the United Kingdom, and contributed to a number of edited scientific books such as the book 'Contemporary Qatar', and many research papers have been published for him in international scientific journals such as Middle East Policy and Journal of Balkans and Near Eastern Studies.
Dr. Al-Ansari is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Center for Strategic Studies of the Qatar Armed Forces and a member of the Advisory Board of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities at Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
