Turkish assistance group sends aid to poor families in Somalia


(MENAFN) The Turkish Red Crescent ran humanitarian activities in the Somali capital of Mogadishu, to deliver meat to poor families.

The assistance group stated that 1,743 packages were sent to families in Garasbaley, orphanages, and centers for disabled people.

The ruler of the delegation in Somalia Orhan Kokcu updated Anadolu Agency "The slaughter and distribution of 1,743 shares (249 livestock) of votive, Akika and Sukur qurban was carried out by the Turkish Red Crescent," while mentioning several kinds of sacrificial religious offerings Muslims frequently make.

Kokcu added that every family received 5-kilogram (11 pounds) packages, with over 4,701 families gaining from the aid.
