The Saudi Federation for Cyber Security and Programming (SFCSP) selected Ahmed Hossam El-Din Atallah, an affiliate with the College of Computer Information Technology - Bachelor of Science in Network Security at the American University in the Emirates (AUE), as the chief engineer in the largest cyber security competition across the Middle East. The General Entertainment Authority organised this Competition in Riyadh Province - KSA on the sidelines of the @HACK Conference within the events of "Riyadh Season."
The competition, which lasted three days and attracted tens of thousands of people interested in cyber security, was a huge success. Ahmed Hossam El-Din Atallah, an AUE student, left an indelible mark on the event. Through his efficiency, he has displayed the breadth of abilities and expertise acquired by AUE students in numerous disciplines, as well as their potential to win competitions in their favour.
The @HACK Conference included "Capture the Flag (CTF)" and "Bug Bounty" competitions, which are both concerned with cyber security and widely referred to as the "Bug Bounty Platform." Several teams and individuals from across the world participated in these two competitions and they were tested in the field of Ethical Hacking. The winners received a total of SR1, 000,000 in rewards.
The moral and proper honour for the AUE student who participated in organising the competition and presiding over its engineers is heightened since the @HACK Conference activities are the largest cyber security event in 2021.
Student Ahmed Hossam El-Din Atallah and his team participated in organising this huge event, which was attended and praised by international media and local and international dignitaries. With some innovative touches, the team was able to arrange the competition in such a way that all of the participants were enthralled.
"I am honoured to represent the AUE at this massive international event," says Ahmed Hossam El-Din Atallah. "The AUE has supported its affiliates in gaining a lot of expertise and awareness of all contemporary issues and concerns, even beyond the scope of their academic speciality."
He expressed his delight in the AUE's and its students' achievements, as well as the experiences that have contributed to their self-development and capacity to win competitions in their favour. He discussed the idea of hosting a cyber security event at the AUE in the near future, based on his experiences gained from participating in the SFCSP's worldwide competition.
On the other side, the AUE administration expressed its delight in the students' unique experiences and abilities to positively engage in international events. It emphasised that the favourable impression made by the students participating in the SFCSP Competition strengthens the University's commitment to offering assistance to its affiliates, as they are the balance on which the University depends to graduate generations with experience and competence. As a result, these generations hold a unique status within society and among its members.
