(MENAFN- The Conversation) Research Assistant Professor of Social, Behavioral and Population Sciences, Tulane University Profile Articles Activity
Kristefer Stojanovski, PhD, MPH is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Social, Behavioral & Population Sciences at the Tulane University, School of Public health & Tropical Medicine. Dr. Stojanovski is also a Research Director of the Partners for Advancing Health Equity grant supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation as part of Tulane's Institute for Innovations in Health Equity. His research examines how stigmatizing social processes and policies harm the health of LGBTQ+ and Roma ethnic populations across countries in Europe, Africa, and North America. Some of the questions I ask are: how to do more supportive policy environments influence the mental health of LGBTQ+? How do communities define, understand, and process the stigma they experience? In what ways do community organizations influence policy-makers' and funders' agendas? He is a former Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Research Scholars and a global health fellow at Drexel University funded by the National Institute of Minority Health & Health Disparities. Dr. Stojanovski completed his PhD in health behavior & health education at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Kristefer has also completed dual master's degrees in public health epidemiology and in health management and policy at the University of Michigan.
