Brazil celebrates National Day at Expo 2020 with visiting President, Jair Bolsonaro


(MENAFN- Mid-East.Info) Dubai: Brazil celebrated National Day at expo 2020 Dubai in the presence of a state delegation from the Latin American country led by President Jair Bolsonaro, highlighting the potential to escalate trade, investment and cultural relations with the UAE and the Arab world in general.

The National Day celebration comes close to the Brazil Pavilion in the Sustainability District registered 401,177 visitors since the opening of the Expo 2020.

“This is a unique celebration of National Day at the Expo 2020 and it symbolizes, as well as send out a message on the importance of the robust relationship Brazil has with the UAE. The presence of the President Jair Bolsonaro and a state ministerial delegation emphasizes this further with the Expo 2020 bringing the world under one canopy,” said Elias Martins Filho, Commissioner-General for Brazil Expo 2020 Dubai.

The delegation also included Augusto Pestana, President of the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), the nodal agency managing the country's participation at the Expo. 

As part of a host of National Day celebrations, Brazil Pavilion is also hosting the world's jiu-jitsu training event jointly. The decision to host Jiu-Jitsu was taken after a meeting between Abdul Moneim Al Hashemi, President of the UAE and Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federations and First Vice President of the Jiu –Jitsu International Federation and Fernando Luís Lemos Igreja, Brazilian Ambassador to the UAE.

Visitors to the Brazil Pavilion continues to be a mix of business and leisure visitors with the attractions including the biodiversity which the country has highlighted to communicate the conservation endeavors of the country and commitment to environment and climate change mitigation.

For business visitors, Brazil is also offering potential opportunities in investment and trade across key verticals such as food, travel and tourism.

About Brazil pavilion at Expo 2020 :

The Brazilian pavilion will be part of this last thematic axis, reaffirming the importance of biodiversity, culture of environmental preservation, competitiveness based on sustainability and the portrait of Brazilian multiculturalism.


Expo Dubai 2020 represents a singular moment of promotion of Brazilian diversity and an opportunity to tell the world of its unique features. The event is linked to the efforts of Apex-Brazil in the commercial promotion of agribusiness, innovative technologies, as well as the construction of an economically attractive country image and a natural destination for foreign investments. It will also contribute to reinforcing the regional, gastronomic and ethnic multiplicity and immigration diversity of Brazil.


Apex-Brazil is responsible for building the pavilion and organizing the Brazilian participation at Expo Dubai. In 2015, the agency organized the Brazilian participation at Expo Milano and, in 2010, at the Expo Shanghai.
