The Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation boosts Abu Dhabi Art with a vibrant set of events and exhibits

(MENAFN- Hattlan Media) The Abu Dhabi music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) joins Abu Dhabi Art with its pavilion presenting work by emerging and established Emirati, artist talks and a preview of Abu Dhabi Festival’s landmark flagship exhibition in January, an unprecedented look at the development of the UAE’s visual art landscape since the country’s founding, in gallery CP1 at Abu Dhabi Art, held at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi, Novermber 17-21, 2021.

Alkhamis-Kanoo, Founder of ADMAF and Founder and Artistic Director of Abu Dhabi Festival.
“Our collaboration with Abu Dhabi Art and the National Pavilion UAE features Nujoom Alghanem’s Passage for the first time in the UAE, an impeccable reflection of our long history of creative partnership with the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism”.
“We are also excited to preview our own Portrait of a Nation II: Beyond Narratives, the flagship exhibition of the 2022 Abu Dhabi Festival programme, revealing the progressive development of our nation’s visual art landscape”.
In addition to exhibiting artworks, ADMAF presents a series of talks with Emirati artists and provides tours of Abu Dhabi art to school and university students, introducing them to Emirati artists and ADMAF’s art awards programmes.
ADMAF will showcase Coral Colonies of Mass Construction, a projectct as part of the Foundation’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) programme, in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Using 3D printing technology, students at the American University of Sharjah designed and produced a prototype for a vessel that can be used to simulate coral in order to offer an attractive site for coral larvae to settle. Resettlement and along the coastlines of the UAE is meant to support existing coral and combat the problem of coral that continue to perish due to environmental factors.
In partnership with MIT, ADMAF will organize a talk with the team behind the project on November 18 at 7pm, highlighting the role of ADMAF’s STEAM programme and discussing the artwork’s design and 3D production, concept and creative process, and the manufacturing and printing.
Guided tours of Abu Dhabi Art for university students will be carried out on November 18 and 20 at 11am, and school-student tours will take place on November 21 at 11am. The tours include several visits to the galleries hosting celebrated Emirati artists, including Abdul Qader Al Rais, Najat Makki, Afra Al Dhaheri and Zeinab Al Hashemi. Students will also view Emirati writer and film director Nujoom Alghanem’s video installation Passage, with a special focus on clips and songs related to the film. Additionally, ADMAF will introduce the students to its visual art and design awards and encourage them to participate.
ADMAF will also present The Magic of Scent, the winning artwork of the ADMAF Design Fund by young Emirati jewellery artist Noura Alserkal, supported by leading French jewellery brand Van Cleef & Arpels. Following this, a talk with Alserkal will explore her artistic journey and the concept behind her artowrk, as well as the creative process taking place on Saturday, November 20 at 7pm.
