Dubai – Futuristic, efficient, and sustainable transport is showcased in the DP World pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. Praised as the most significant innovation in the mobility industry since the inception of air travel, DP World Cargospeed is a partnership between DP World and Virgin Hyperloop that will enable fast, sustainable, and efficient delivery of cargo around the world through 'pods' or capsules moved by an engine inside a vacuum tube. The innovation is displayed right at the external area of the pavilion, with a replica of a 10-meter blue capsule.

Inside the pavilion, visitors can try out the technology

The technology is under testing for cargo and passengers, and DP World's investment was about USD 400 million. Passenger tests have been successful. The company does not estimate when Cargospeed will be put into use. Still, it is known it will revolutionize the cargo and passenger transport industry, making travel faster and less costly.

A trip from Seoul to Paris, for example, would take only three hours with Cargospeed. On a nonstop flight, the journey between the South Korean and French capitals takes an average of 12 hours.

Visitors have the opportunity to see a replica of the inner compartment of Virgin Hyperloop's passenger pod, where they can sit and learn more about the innovative technology with interactive screens and videos.

DP World Cargospeed will transport high-priority and time-sensitive products such as fresh food, medical supplies, electronics, among others, offering an unprecedented experience to the public, with shipping at the speed of an airplane and price closer to truck transport.

In addition to the Cargospeed project, visitors can see a scale model of the port of Dubai (Jebel Ali) and the first ships used in the region to transport cargo. At the end of the visit, there is a show with videos, lights, and a technological waterfall.

The Dubai-based sea terminal and services company named its pavilion at Expo 2020 the DP World Flow, which refers to the flow of goods the company transports worldwide.

The tour ends in a show with video, lights, and water

“The steady flow of goods has historically driven innovation in the transportation sector, and now, more than ever, we must continue to prepare the industry for the future,” said Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, president of DP World and Virgin Hyperloop, in a statement. DP World is Virgin Hyperloop's largest single investor.

As well as the exhibitions bring the themes of mobility, connectivity, opportunity, and sustainability, a schedule of events assembles government and business leaders to discuss the future of world trade.

After Expo 2020, the Arab company's pavilion will be transformed into an educational institute, making it a permanent part of the Expo 2020 Dubai legacy. ANBA was received by the international media manager, Hakam Kherallah, who accompanied the pavilion tour. To learn more, visit the DP World Expo website .
