Thailand: Flooding leaves 6 dead, 2 missing


(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Sep. 28 Thailand’s disaster control authorities stated that flooding provoked by tropical storm Dianmu has impacted almost half of Thailand's provinces, killing at least six persons and two others missing.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) noted in a report that heavy showers have resulted in flooding in 30 provinces in central, northern and northeastern Thailand, impacting over 70,000 households.

According to the DDPM, the flooding conditions in seven provinces has got better, but stayed intense in the other 23 provinces.

It stated according to weather forecast, intense showers are projected to continue to strike the nation’s northern, central and northeastern regions in the next three days.
