S'hail preserves Qatari, Arab culture: Envoys


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) A number of Ambassadors accredited to Qatar have lauded the 5th edition of Katara International Hunting and Falcons exhibition (S'hail 2021), which concluded yesterday. 

The exhibition highlighted Qatar's heritage and brought the culture closer to the people, enabling them to know more about falconry and desert camping. It expresses the established customs and culture of the Qatari people and the entire Gulf countries in hunting and falcons.

S'hail 2021 included pavilions where falcons were sold, hunting equipment, hunting guns, hunting vehicles and supplies for outdoor sports. It also featured all the advanced technologies and tools needed for hunting. 

“The exhibition surprises us every year with something new, different supplies and many visitors. I am happy this year with Kuwait's participation as it has doubled compared to previous years,” said Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Qatar H E Hafiz Mohammed Al Ajmi.

Al Ajmi said that“holding such exhibitions is important because they bring together the Gulf countries as well as falconers.”

For his part, Ambassador of Pakistan H E Syed Ahsan Raza Shah said,“It is absolutely wonderful. We also in Pakistan have a lot of interest in falcons. Many people from Qatar go there, but being in the exhibition to see many facilities is amazing.

“I have been in Katara before. The facilities here are of high quality. We already have close collaboration with Katara regarding cultural affairs.”

The Ambassador of India to Qatar,  H E Deepak Mittal said,“It is a great pleasure for me to visit the exhibition at Katara. I was here last year and can see the exhibition has grown inside.”

“The exhibition brings us very close, giving us a chance to know more about falconry and desert camping and the wonderful way of life Qatar has to offer,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Qatar, H E Georges Bahsa Hazim congratulated the organisers on the excellent organisation. 

“During our visit to the exhibition, we learned how these falcons are preserved, how they are raised, and the equipment used during hunting,” Hazim said.

Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman, H E Najib bin Yahya Al Balushi, praising the exhibition, commented,“It contains the best and latest fishing and camping equipment. This year, the exhibition is distinguished with wide participation. We were pleased to see different types of falcons and learn about their capabilities and specifications, and this is a joyful thing.” 

He stressed that Qatar is proving its capabilities in holding these exhibitions, and“we appreciate its efforts to preserve this heritage.”

Ambassador of Algeria to Qatar, H E Dr. Mustafa Boutoura, said,“I had the honour to visit the exhibition for the second time. It expresses the established customs and culture of the Qatari people and the entire Gulf countries in the field of hunting and falcons.”
