Lebanese president inks decree to form new government in country


(MENAFN) The Lebanese president and prime minister-designate inked a decree to establish a new government in the country, following months of political impasse.

President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati inked a decree in the attendance of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to form the new government.

Lebanon's Council of Ministers arranged Monday as the date for the government's first session.

Mikati further declared that his government is going to prepare a "rescue plan as soon as possible" and showed his hope to stop the economic collapse.
