(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Workinton Qatar, in partnership with International Artists of Doha (IAD), hosted their first group art exhibition - 'Changes' - on August 25. A group of 22 international artists based in Qatar displayed their works,“depicting their perception of 'Changes' – human adaption to its surroundings and experience”.“IAD was formed in early 2011 by two Dutch artists as a non-profit organisation for international artists living and working in Doha,” said Maria al-Bader, chairperson, IAD.
“We strive to be a platform that inspires community members to express their creativity through artwork - creating a safe environment where artists can share their thoughts, opinions and dreams.
“This exhibition in partnership with Workinton Qatar is the work result of 22 artists of almost two years of pandemic lockdown under the theme 'Changes',” she added. Cuban ambassador to Qatar Oscar Leon Gonzalez and Qatari ambassador to Cuba Jamal al-Bader were among the dignitaries at the event. There was a special performance by Yukari Sunaga, wife of Kazuo Sunaga, Japanese ambassador. Workinton Qatar, under Alfardan Properties, established itself as“Qatar's first” Coworking Space in 2018. A year later, they launched their first art exhibition. Workinton Qatar is described as the first Coworking Space in the Mena region to host such a concept, a press statement noted. Megha Sharma, events and culture specialist at Workinton Qatar, said:“At Workinton, we don't just want to be an enabler for startups and tech-enabled businesses, but also a platform for artists and creatives to thrive. We believe in the power of culture in a workspace and the positive energy it brings. Curating a workspace and lifestyle designed for conscious minds.”
