UK revival decelerates as employees shortages disturb companies

(MENAFN) A thoroughly monitored survey showed that employees and supply shortages have affected the UK's economic revival in August.

The IHS Markit/CIPS Composite Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for August reached a six-month low of 55.3, decreasing from 59.2 last month.

Researchers noted that any figure over 50 shows expansion, but the recovery from the pandemic is losing impetus.

The number were "a stark warning", stated CIPS group director Duncan Brock.
