Entire renewable capacity in Turkey reaches 1.7 percent globally


(MENAFN)According to data compiled by Anadolu Agency reveals, Turkey’s renewables growth directed by hydro, wind and solar sets the Izmir province as a leader in wind power and Konya as an inventor in solar energy.

Turkey’s whole renewables volume of 50,990 megawatts (MW), hydropower reached 31,280 MW, wind power stood at 9,543 MW and solar amounted at 7,070 MW. Moreover, Turkey has large geothermal volume of 1,595 MW.

Renewable volume reached 52.5 percent of Turkey’s total installed electricity that stood at 92,377 MW at the end of April due to more than USD50 billion investments in renewables.

In addition, the entire renewable capacity of Turkey that differs through the country in terms of resources stood at nearly 1.7 percent wide-reaching.
