Vietnam: Wood products export increases 61.3 percent

(MENAFN)According to the country's General Statistics Office on Tuesday, June 8, Vietnam exported almost USD6.6 billion of wood and wood products in the first five months of 2021, increasing 61.3 percent year on year.

In May alone, the country raked in about 1.4 billion U.S. dollars from exporting wood and wood products, posting an 80.3-percent expansion year on year.

The remarkable expansion of wood export can partly attribute to the fact that throughout the coronavirus pandemic, particularly when social distancing is in place, people have more time to improve their houses and furniture, which leads to an upsurge in international demand, according to local experts.
