Instagram is soon likely to allow uploading posts through its web version (desktop and tablets) - Market Trends & Business Updates

(MENAFN - VMR News) The photo-sharing platform Instagram can currently be used by users only as an application. All the features that the mobile version comes with are available on the web version. For a very long time, Instagram users have been demanding an option to use the platform from the desktop version as the application will get enhanced when worked on the big screen. In lieu of that, the Instagram officials have rolled out a new update, keeping in mind the need of the users. A new report states that soon the users will be able to post Instagram posts with the help of desktop, laptop, or tablet.

The information about the upgrade in Instagram has been shared by the renowned app developer, Alessandro Paluzzi. According to Paluzzi, the users will be able to easily ''drag and drop'' and upload photos and videos with the help of their personal computers (PCs). In addition, several screenshots shared by Paluji on Twitter shows that Instagram can support uploading images and video formats such as JPG, PNG, MP4, and QuickTime.

After uploading a photo or video on Instagram, the users will get the option to crop it if needed in the next step. After that, the users will be able to add a filter to their photos or videos out of the many options available. Before sharing the post, the users will also be given the option to add a few information like the location and tags, just like in the Facebook and Instagram app. Next, the photos or videos shared will be seen in the users'' Instagram feed. That will mark the successful upload of their post through the desktop version.

However, despite the new changes introduced by Instagram, the users will not get all the functions on the big screen. It is being said that users will not be able to share pictures on Instagram by taking photos from their desktop or laptop. One will only be able to post a pre-existing image in that account. It is important to remember that the new feature is available on the mobile web app version of Instagram, where the users can click photos from their device's camera and share them directly in the feed.

According to Value Market Research, the major players in the social networking market include, Classmates, Facebook Inc., Flickr, Google+, Instagram, LinkedIn Corporation, Meetup, MeetMe Inc., Pinterest, Tagged Inc., Tumblr Inc., Twitter Inc., Vine, Vkontakte.

Earlier, the Facebook-owned Instagram could not be used as a full-flexed application on the iPad as it worked only in a lower screen size version like the iOS app. However, The new update has brought good news for the iPad users, and now, even iPad users will able to use the application, although with a few complications. It is also important to keep in mind that the company has not officially declared how long the Instagram web will get support for stories or reels. So, for now, the users are only getting the option to view only Instagram posts in the web version.
