Official says Israel, Palestine require immediate restoration of clam

(MENAFN)Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi stated that Israel and Palestine require "an immediate restoration of clam and an end to violence and murder,” as the one-week deadly conflicts have killed more than 200 people.

The Presidency reported that "Egypt did and will continue to exert efforts to end the conflicts. Hope always remains to settle the violence."

Tensions initiated in Jerusalem in April and extended to the West Bank and the Gaza Strip among anger of an imposed evacuation of Palestinians from their home in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in East Jerusalem.

Tensions increased on May 10 after Hamas that rules the Gaza Strip, set an ultimatum for Israel to remove its forces from the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, where hundreds of Palestinians were wounded in conflicts with Israeli police.
