Algeria endorses strategy to partially reopen frontiers in June


(MENAFN) On Sunday, May. 16 Algeria’s administration endorsed a strategy to partially reopen its frontiers in June, after 14 months of shutting because of the coronavirus pandemic.

A series of suggestions, comprising the partial reopening of land, air and sea frontiers, were endorsed at the assembly, stated the Council of Ministers in a report after holding an assembly, headed by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

According to the report, the reopening of frontiers will happen on June 1, and, at the first phase, five flights a day will be programmed from airports based in key cities, like the capital Algiers, Oran and Constantine.

It emphasized the reopening of frontiers is ought to be conducted in firm observance of the rules on guaranteeing the health and safety of passengers and employees.
