Israel, Greece sign deal includes establishment of a 5.4 billion training center


(MENAFN)The Israeli defense ministry stated that Israel and Greece inked their "largest ever" security procurement agreement.

The deal includes the creation and operation of a 5.4 billion shekels (about USD1.65 billion) training center for the Hellenic Air Force in a period of 22 years.

The center is going to be replicated after the Israel Air Force flight academy, and will be prepared with 10 M-346 training aircraft managed by Leonardo, an aerospace and Security Company headquartered in Italy.

The statement added that Elbit Systems is going to find the center. Elbit is going to offer kits to improve and operate the Hellenic Air Force's T-6 aircraft. It will offer training, logistical support also.
