Afghanistan: 4 died during unlawful mining for gold


(MENAFN)Officials saw on Monday, February 22, that land sliding alleged the lives of as a minimum four Afghan gold miners who were working on removing the valuable metal unlawfully in the mountainous northern area of Afghanistan.

The event happened last night in the remote area of Raghistan, according to the police directorate in the northern province of Badakhshan.

Sanaullah Rouhani, a police spokesperson told Anadolu Agency by phone that three wounded gold miners and four bodies have been improved from the managed mining site after the accident.

Earlier this week, the provincial finance department stated that the government was not getting any income because people were connected in unlawful mining of valuable and semi-precious stones and metals such as gold in Badakhshan.
