KABUL: The Afghan National Security Advisor, Hamdullah Mohib has called on the Taliban ground fighters not to get caught in the crosshairs of their leaders, and stop becoming 'scapegoats' and being sacrificed for the sake of them.

The Taliban fighters are abused by an intelligence agency, Mr. Mohib said in a gathering in the eastern Nangarhar Province. But he didn't name any intelligence agency, who he believes used the Taliban fighters for their interests.

'You are fighting for the individuals who live in a peaceful condition in Quetta, Karachi, Islamabad and Peshawar,' he added. The enemies want to impose oppression on the people of Afghanistan.

Earlier, a video went viral on social media, showing that deputy leader of Taliban and the head of the group political office in Qatar, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, who then visited Islamabad to meet with the leadership, talking to wounded Taliban fighters there.

The remarks by top Afghan officials come in the wake of the second round of the intra-Afghan negotiations in Doha capital of Qatar.

Meanwhile, according to some sources privy to the issue, there has been no progress in negotiation between the two teams so far that there is no resumption on the talks despite they were agreed for5th January.

Afghan and Taliban peace negotiators agreed for a short-break and agreed to resume the talks on 5th January that so far did not resume.
