Beirut : Hezbollah leader Seyed Hassan Nasrallah has said Saudi Arabia is hand in gloves with the US and Israel in the assassination of Iran's top commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani and his companions.
'The criminal assassination of General Soleimani was not only an American crime, but I believe that Israel and Saudi Arabia were culprits in this crime as well, even if their role was just to provoke Washington to commit it,' Nasrallah said in a recent interview with the al-Mayadeen television network
Paying homage to Iran's top commander on the eve of his assassination anniversary, Nasrallah said as a humble commander Soleimani was always present on the battleground and commanding fellow fighters as opposed to military leaders worldwide who are absent from conflict zones.
'Hajj Qassem Soleimani's school of thought means taking risks. Death threatened him all the time. But he was always at the forefront, and I always disagreed with him on the matter. I always tried to keep him behind the frontline, but none of us could force him to do so,' Nasrallah said.
The Hezbollah chief recalled how Soleimani had come to visit him in Beirut's southern Dahieh neighborhood during the 33-day Israeli military onslaught on Lebanon in the summer of 2006, despite repeated warnings that it could seriously put his life at risk.
'During the 33-day war, Hajj Qassem helped us a lot. Iraqi commanders said he was always at the forefront of the fight against Daesh and was with Iraqi and Syrian forces. This is another personality trait of his,' Nasrallah highlighted.

He also noted that in addition to Soleimani he is also on the joint hit list drawn up by the US, Israel, and Saudi Arabia.
According to Nasrallah, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had tried to goad President Donald Trump during his first visit to Washington into authorizing the assassination of top Hezbollah commanders through Israeli operations.
Nasrallah added that he has always been a target for the common axis of the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia both before and after the assassination of Soleimani, adding that efforts made in this regard become more intense before the recent US presidential election because Trump needed its impact on US polls.
Soleimani was assassinated by a US drone near Baghdad International Airport on January 3.
