MENACOM Jordan Recruits First Graduate from its Scholarship Program at Princess Sumaya University for Technology
(MENAFN- Asda'a BCW) Amman, Jordan – November 23, 2020 – As part of a comprehensive scholarship program designed to provide local students with both educational and professional opportunities, MENACOM Jordan—the leading marketing communications group in the Kingdom and across the MENA region—has recently hired its first graduate from the program. The new MENACOM Jordan team member is now employed by the group’s public relations and corporate communications agency, ASDA’A BCW.
Since launching the scholarship program in 2018, MENACOM Jordan has provided two annual full scholarships to undergraduate students at Princess Sumaya University (PSUT) for Technology. Beneficiaries who apply to the program must meet a number of highly discerning criteria, including being among the top performing students in their first year of university. In addition to funding the last three years of the students’ studies at PSUT, the scholarship program also provides recipients with paid internships, as well as a job opportunity with the group following the completion of their undergraduate degree, or a professional recommendation to help them secure a job in their preferred industry or sector, making it highly competitive among PSUT students.
With the successful completion of her undergraduate degree, one of the first scholarship recipients has officially joined the MENACOM Jordan team, a group comprising more than 170 employees across five integrated communications agencies: advertising agencies VMLY&R and Intermarkets, marketing and digital agency Wunderman, public relations firm ASDA’A BCW, media and content specialists Wavemaker, and retail marketing firm Interface.
Commenting on this milestone, MENACOM Jordan CEO Relja Jovic said, “MENACOM Jordan’s scholarship program with Princess Sumaya University for Technology is a genuine reflection of our commitment to supporting and giving back to the local community, and youth in particular. As a preferred employer here in Jordan, it’s important for us to do our part in alleviating issues like youth unemployment, by helping local students develop and hone their skills in ways that can be readily and gainfully applied to the local job market in general, and the Kingdom’s marketing communications industry in specific. We are especially thrilled to support students in complementary fields, like technology, which will invigorate our business and operations with fresh insights and perspectives, particularly as we work toward further digital integration across the entire group.”
Speaking on behalf of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, the president of the university, Dr. Mashhour Al-Rifai, said, “MENACOM Jordan’s scholarship program successfully demonstrates the importance of integrating labor-market insights and preparations into the traditional academic experience. By supporting students’ academic studies while simultaneously providing practical experience and career guidance, MENACOM Jordan is helping students at PSUT become more competitive both academically and professionally.”
With the first graduate of the program now working at ASDA’A BCW Jordan, the managing director of the public relations consultancy, Ibrahim Tadros, expressed his optimism toward the scholarship program and highlighted its strategic importance: “At a time when the corporate communications sector is undergoing a rapid evolution, we at ASDA’A BCW are always looking to enhance the ways we serve our clients—and this includes harnessing the potential of young local talent. Through MENACOM Jordan’s scholarship initiative, graduates come to us with the perfect blend of ambition, education, and practical, real-world experience. I am delighted to welcome our new employee on board, and I look forward to seeing her, and other talented individuals like her, continue to develop their knowledge and capacities in the years to come.”
With 25 years of industry leadership under its belt, MENACOM Jordan continues to serve as a trendsetter for the Kingdom’s marketing communications industry through an award-winning combination of creativity, innovation, and a client-focused commitment to excellence.
