HITB+CyberWeek returns to the Middle East as the cyber security community comes together to drive sustained progress

(MENAFN- mslgroup) Hack In The Box (HITB), the international conference renowned for its cutting-edge technical talks and trainings in computer security, is once again bringing together the world’s top thinkers and cyber security experts as HITB+CyberWeek 2020 gets underway today, on 15 November. Now in its second edition, the must-attend security event is taking place virtually this year. Registered attendees will gain access to HITB’s networking platform from 15 November onwards while the main HITB Conference days are on the 18th and the 19th, when keynote speakers and attendees share their latest knowledge, ideas, and techniques with the wider security community over two days.

“Today’s digital world continues to accelerate and evolve exponentially. HITB+CyberWeek is the perfect platform to drive widespread industry collaboration, research practices, and cutting-edge training that equips professionals with essential knowledge, skills, and solutions,” said Dhillon Kannabhiran, Founder and CEO of HITB. “Security incidents are ever-present across the digital landscape, as are hackers. It is our shared responsibility to exchange experiences, propose ground-breaking ideas, and equip ourselves and others with next-generation competencies.”

As a virtual networking platform, HITB+CyberWeek matches attendees according to shared interests and connects them with exhibitors to discuss and explore topics of interest. Experienced security professionals get to engage with subject matter experts and participate in extensive knowledge sharing through various breakout sessions, hands-on labs, and workshops.

Other than HITB’s two main talk tracks which require paid access, HITB+CyberWeek will feature four other talk tracks that are free – the CommSec Track, IoT Village Talks, Red Village Talks, and DevSecOps Talks. All talks will be accessible for viewing on HITB+CyberWeek’s browser-accessible event platform. Additionally, more than 30 virtual booths make up this year’s HITBCommSec exhibition space including the Radio Frequency Village, the Automotive Village, workshops, labs, and other themed spaces where attendees can interact with booth representatives, view demos, watch videos, or other activities by each booth.

“Creating an environment that drives interaction and education enables like-minded people to network and ensures talent can realise their full potential,” said Dr Marwan Alzarooni, Director Information Services at Dubai Electronic Security Centre (DESC), HITB+CyberWeek’s strategic partner. “By working together and providing support, we can surpass set boundaries, establish a more robust cyber security industry, and dispel threats. HITB+CyberWeek is a unique platform where attendees can take significant steps in addressing these areas, and this year’s edition promises to be a resounding success.”
