Japan reports 722 new virus cases, 7 deaths


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TOKYO, Oct 30 (KUNA) -- Japan reported 722 new coronavirus cases and seven deaths over the last 24 hours.
The new figures raised the total number of cases to 100,190 and deaths to 1,749, health authorities said on Friday.
Meanwhile, Japan lowered its travel alert by one notch to Level 2 on a four-level scale for China, South Korea, Taiwan, Brunei, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand, Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi announced at a press conference.
The Level 2 alert advises citizens to refrain from non-essential overseas trips. Motegi also said that Japan and Vietnam will resume short-term business travel between the two countries from Sunday without the requirement of a 14-day self-isolation upon arrival. (end)
