(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Oct. 18 (Petra) -- A convicted fugitive wanted for his involvement in a homicide died on Saturday after jumping from an apartment balcony as he tried to escape from a police force that came for his arrest in the northwestern Amman district of Swelieh.
A Public Security Statement said a police commando force raided the hideout of the man, who had been handed a 10-year prison term for involvement in a murder, but he resisted arrest and jumped from a balcony. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he soon died, the statement added.
The PSD indicated that the relatives of the man hurled stones at the security force following the incident, leading to the arrest of some of them.
