Australia: Plans to defeat wildfires by modernizing prevention techniques


(MENAFN)With Australia still healing from the last shocking fire season, local philanthropic group the Minderoo Foundation put preparations to radically repair fire prevention methods using the newest technologies and knowledge on Tuesday, September 15.

Formally known as the "Fire Shield Mission," the determined scheme intends to be able to notice, observe and put out dangerous fires anywhere in Australia within an hour by 2025.

Established by Australian mining billionaire Andrew Forrest, the Minderoo Foundation brought together top specialists from science, technology, and the corporate space to tie together new technology and protect against the risk of fire.
Adrian Turner, CEO of Minderoo Foundation's Fire and Flood Resilience initiative, stated "Throughout history, communities have been at the mercy of the elements. It is time for us to harness the power of people, technology and data to fight back".
