11% rise in non-oil Kuwait's exports last month


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Sept 13 (KUNA) -- Value of certificates of origin for non-oil Kuwait exports rose 11 percent in August compared to the same month of 2019, said the Kuwait Ministry of Industry and Commerce on Sunday.
A statement by the Ministry said that the number of certificates of origin for products exported to Arab and foreign countries amounted to 906, valued at KD 13.3 ( USD 43 million) in August against 864 certificates, worth KD 11.9 million (USD 32 milllion) equated to last year.
The Figure of Kuwaiti certificates for exports to Arab states, except for GCC countries, amounted to 166, valued at KD three million (USD 9.8million) against 91 for foreign countries, valued at KD 1.6 million (USD 5.2million).
Number of Certificates for the Kuwaiti exports to the GCC countries reached 647, valued at KD 8.5 million (USD 27million) during the same month last year.
The ministry also noted that Iraq tops the list (in the ME region) for importing Kuwaiti exports, while the UAE tops the GCC states, as Turkey topped the rest of the world for receiving Kuwait exports. (end)
