(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Jeddah, July 06, 2020, SPA -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has deeply appreciated the efforts of the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen to achieve peace in Afghanistan.
The Ministry said that the Afghan Governemnt deeply appreciates the Secreteary General's commitment to the Afghan people and his call for peace, stressing the need to stop violence and for a sustained ceasefire to achieve peace.
The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation stressed yesterday the need for all parties in Afghanistan to focus their attention on efforts to bring about peace in light of the recent escalation of violence.
