Kuwait- Coronavirus-hit nations update infection, death figures


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, June 1 (KUNA) -- Countries continue to tackle the impacts of the novel coronavirus as governments on Monday announced their daily tallies regarding the deadly pandemic.
Saudi Arabia listed 1,881 new cases and 22 deaths, bringing the total to 87,142 and 525 respectively.
Meanwhile, another 1,864 people were cured for a collective number of 64,306 so far.
In Iraq, authorities said cases have climbed by 429 to 6,868. The virus also claimed 10 lives as 119 people were cured.
Syria said numbers rose to 123 after reporting a single case. Of the total cases, five have succumbed to the illness and 46 have recovered.
Tunisia said cases increased by eight to 1,084 as recoveries rose to 964 over the past 24 hours.
Austria reported a five case rise to 16,643. Its health ministry has also not reported a single death in four days. (end)
